For those of you returning to my class, I am looking forward to seeing you again. For those of you who may not know me, let me introduce myself.
This is my fifth year at Provo High. I teach American Sign Language and Arabic. I have been a professional interpreter between ASL and English for five and a half years. I love learning and speaking languages. Besides ASL and Arabic, I can speak Mandarin and have dabbled in several other languages such as Japanese, Spanish, and Hebrew. I have a masters degree in International Law and World Order from the University of Reading in Britain and thoroughly enjoy learning new things about people and places. I am excited to get started on this adventure with you.
My favorite cartoon character is Jane from the Disney movie Tarzan because she loves learning new things, adventures, and teaching a new language (to Tarzan). When you get to class, take a look around to see if you can find my monkeys. (Remember, they are the ones who stole my boots in the movie.)

i am SO excited to be in your class again. i love sign language so much and i am glad that you are my teacher. you are so fun and i have so much fun in your class. thank you for everything that you have taught me. i look forward to learning more about sign language.

i love ASL. everything about it is just beyond and cooler than anything i've done before (except DND, but i'm a geek so you can't blame me.)i've seen and learned some of the coolest stuff in level 1 and i remember them just like i am there again.

Doing ASL again is making me so happy! Once I got back into the class, it's like the signs got back to me too. I don't know about you, but it was hard for me sign, and rather embarrassing how slow I was getting over the summer. Lucky for me the place I work has many people who sign. Where I work I also met two deaf people. One is a man and comes almost everyday, I am unsure if he knows how to sign. The other person is a woman who came once. These experiences made my top ten in my list of "great things that happened over the summer."
When Does ASL Club Start?
ASL club starts when the officers and I arrange our schedules on a day. We'll talk about it in class.

Why Do Some People Capitalize Everything They Write? I can't make Wednesdays - unless we did it at 3:30 (if it's an odd day) and about 4:30 (if it's an even day)...Why not Thursdays like last year?... Do you have a problem with my Yep Yeps?
I like Thusdays as well. Who says yep yep anyway, I guess that is one thing that makes you unique. But why yep yep?
too bad. we changed it to wednesday. :P class was fun on thursday.. i liked making all those facial expressions with hansel and gretel. :)
Ya that was way fun! Now that it is changed I won't miss marching band, thats one good thing.

I never realized how hard it was to sign to new students. The last few Wednsdays have been way fun but frustrating as well. Any way I like going to the ASL Labs.

Great idea. Lots of students have been asking me when ASL club will be. I think it should be a good year. I need to get the hoodies ordered. Please help me remember to bring that up in class.
